Denali Flight Seeing

Guests will be picked up at their hotel for the short transfer to the air base operations center for a flightseeing tour of Denali, formerly known as Mt. McKinley. Participants will fly over majestic Denali, North America’s tallest peak. This monumental mountain stands adjacent to Mount Foraker, and together they form the two loftiest peaks on the continent. Located on the northern flank of the Alaska Range, approximately 250 miles south of the Arctic Circle, Denali towers 20,320 feet from its base. From the comfort of the aircraft, guests will experience firsthand the massive bulk of this mountain. They will fly over Ruth Glacier, and the amphitheater (several glaciers converging into one), and see where climbers begin their ascent at about 7000 feet in their attempts to reach the summit. This trip is one that participants will remember for a lifetime, as they experience the vast expanse of unadulterated wilderness that is Alaska. The experienced bush pilot will narrate the trip and talk about ascents of the mountain, the wildlife and the rugged lifestyles of those who challenge its massive peaks.
